Eating is the most intimate act.Lisa Marie

Many of us take eating for granted. We tend to focus on whether what we eat is low-calorie or fat-free, a protein or a carb, "good" or "bad" - and not on the act of enjoying what we're consuming. In our society, there is a system of shame and guilt built around food and the act of eating. If we consume it in guilt and shame, are we truly feeding our bodies? Eating is much more than purchasing and preparing foodstuffs; eating defines who we are.

Who are you when you eat?

I want to redefine our ways of eating. "Rite Food" is about eating ritualistically, eating with purpose, savoring each bite, and understanding why we are eating what we eat. I also believe in the power of sharing the experience; hence, my inclusion of "and company."

I want to reclaim the joy of eating - in myself and in others - through my story and through my food.

The people who contact me:

  • are looking for new ways to think about food and meal preparation.
  • want to know how to meal plan and shop for groceries on a budget.
  • have recently been diagnosed with an illness.
  • are looking to incorporate more local and organic foods.
  • want to teach themselves and their children how to eat with more joy.
  • want to change the world.

Check out my range of services offered. If you don't see something you want, contact me and we can chat about other options.

In Joy,
